I am closing my Patreon account and moving completely to a different platform called Memberful. This will give me much better control, access to more useful features, reduce friction and complications on my end, and should give you a much better experience. Unfortunately, Patreon does not support my taking you with me (which is an example of one of many things I have not liked about Patreon).
Assuming you wish to continue supporting my work (I really hope you will!), simply follow the instructions below:
To unsubscribe from supporting me on Patreon:
Go to https://www.patreon.com/settings/memberships. It may ask you to sign in, and redirect you to a sign in page. Do that, then go back to the link I just gave you.
Find me on that page, and then click “View Details”
At the bottom of that page, click “Cancel Membership”
TaDah! You are now done with Patreon. If for some reason this didn’t work for you, just reply to this email and I can do it in the back end.
Now to sign up on Memberful:
Going forward, I’m reducing my membership tiers (or price points) from five options to three to reduce complications and fees. You can change your support level to one of the new tiers on this page. If this creates budget problems for you, please email me at hugh@hughhollowell.org and I will send you a link to be a member at the old level for the next year.

Why are you doing this?
I tried leaving Patreon completely last year. It was kind of a mess, and I ended up having two different membership programs, and being the chaos muppet that I am, I ended up doing neither well. This is an attempt to simplify things on my end, which will mean I can spend my time creating the things you want me to. This change will leave you more involved with my work, not less.
I don’t want to leave. Can I keep supporting you on Patreon?
You can. But I hope you won’t.
If the last year has taught me anything, it is that I can’t run two programs at the same time. So, at the end of this year I will unpublish my Patreon page, and folks who are still supporting me here at the end of the year will keep being charged, but won’t get any Member-only emails, won’t know about discounts, or Zoom meet-ups, or anything else. All member benefits will come through the new program on Memberful after January 1, 2024.
My old tier is no longer there
Going forward, I’m reducing my membership tiers (or price points) from five options to three to reduce complications and fees. However, since all tiers get access to the same things, the $5 and $25 tier allow you to pay more than that amount. So, for example, if you wish to send me $7 a month, just select the $5 tier and change the amount on the form to $7.
The fees eat me alive below the $5 level, but if you need a $3 tier, email me at hugh@hughhollowell.org and I will send you a link.
Is my payment secure?
All payments are by credit card through Memberful with Stripe as a payment processor. Both services use secure connections (HTTPS) to protect your information. You can read more about security at Memberful and Stripe.
Is Google Wallet/ Apple Pay supported?
